Dumbledore is dead...

At least right now.  I just finished reading the sixth book and I am so sad to say that a certain person deliberately chose to kill Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore.  I don't feel that I am giving away any information that isn't already world known.  I am in mourning.  It was crazy to feel an actual loss when he died.  I haven't felt that attached to characters since I read the Chronicles of Narnia back in elementary school.
Needless to say, I think that everybody should read the Harry Potter books.  They are great.
I am not much of a fiction reader (or much of a reader at all) but Harry Potter has helped me want to keep reading.  I have read the whole series in this one semester.  It is really good.  Read it and see how great Dumbledore is, how great Harry Potter is and how great reading is.

It's great that Harry Potter is even inspiring adults to read. They're not just for children! RIP Dumbledore.

Dumbledore is my favorite because he is gentle and kind (NOT how they portray him in the movies), yet powerful too. He isn't perfect, yet he has learned from the past and is wise. I love how courageous he is in fighting for what is right and good-- he never backs down, no matter the consequences, and doesn't turn a blind eye to the reality of what is going on in the world like everybody else around him does. Society could take a few lessons from him in that regard. I also admire his optimism, and the great care he takes in making sure Harry learns everything he needs to. Anyway, I could probably go on and on!

I'm so glad that you have become a "potter-head", and that you finally realize why I tried to convince you to read those books. Happy reading!! Book 7 is the best!! (But you might want to wait until finals are over to delve into that one...you're not going to want to put it down!)
